Abstract
This tutorial will focus on the model building capabilities of OSCAR-5. The process described in the First OSCAR-5 Run tutorial will be discussed in more detail, at the hand of a hypothetical new reactor. The creation of a reactor model from scratch will be shadowed, thus models of all the different components will be created, after which they will be assembled into a complete core model that encompasses the reactor configuration and different possible reactor states. Special attention will be paid to the various ways in which different types of components can be modelled. Part 1 will focus on the creation of the detailed heterogeneous model, while Part 2 will cover the nodal path. At the end the model will be used to perform a control rod worth calculation.
