Abstract

The focus of this tutorial is on the model building capabilities of OSCAR-5 and in particular, building the homogeneous nodal model. This tutorial picks up where Part 1 ends, therefore the heterogeneous mini core reactor model has been built. In this tutorial we will follow a theoretically consistent step-by-step approach to move from the detailed heterogeneous model to an energy condensed homogeneous nodal model. We will also quantify the errors introduced at each step in the homogenization procedure and define a final error estimate associated with the nodal model.
